Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) is a not-for-profit organisation leading Australia’s national product stewardship scheme for end-of-life tyres. Working across the tyre value chain—including manufacturers, retailers, recyclers, government and industry—TSA drives responsible tyre lifecycle management through accreditation, market development and research. TSA supports the transition to a circular economy by increasing the recovery and reuse of tyre-derived materials, fostering sustainable end markets, and promoting innovation that keeps valuable rubber resources in productive use. Market Development TSA’s Market Development Fund helps build a stronger future for tyre recycling in Australia. Our goal is to create real, long-term demand for tyre-derived material (TDM) by supporting product innovation, infrastructure trials and local manufacturing. We support partnerships across research, industry and government — helping bring technically sound, commercially viable and environmentally responsible products to market. Developing diverse, scalable end markets for Australian tyre-derived material is essential to reducing the environmental and health impacts of end-of-life tyres. TSA supports projects that demonstrate how tyres can be transformed into high-value products and infrastructure. Through two main funding streams—Demonstration & Infrastructure and Research & Development—TSA supports initiatives that: -Deliver strong industry or community benefit -Create new or expanded demand for tyre-derived material -Align with circular economy objectives and net zero pathways -Address challenges such as stockpiling and illegal dumping -Are ready to progress from testing to trial or commercialisation Get in touch with team TSA for more information or questions regarding Market Development. Research TSA leads Australia’s most comprehensive research agenda focused on improving the management of end-of-life tyres (EOLT). Working closely with universities, industry, policymakers and global partners, TSA delivers evidence that informs policy, guides investment and drives innovation across the tyre supply chain. From material science to recovery technologies and lifecycle impacts, this work underpins Australia’s transition to a circular tyre economy. TSA actively collaborates to: -Deliver applied research and feasibility studies -Strengthen data to support procurement and planning decisions -Address knowledge gaps in emissions, environmental impact and circularity -Support alignment with emerging sustainability standards and reporting To discover more about research please contact Linda Mitchell from team TSA or check out our website and LinkedIn pages for more information.
