After many conversations with polyurethane rubber (or PU elastomers) manufacturers and processors, we discovered that over 900,000 kg of polyurethane (PU) rubber waste is incinerated yearly due to a lack of regional recycling options. To address this, we’ve launched a collaborative project aimed at closing the loop for PU rubber. We will transform the waste into raw materials and enabling reuse within the same industry, based on a working pilot plant at our partner facility.

Since January 2025, we’ve connected with international experts to understand how to recycle PU rubber into valuable secondary resources such as recycled polyols. In august 2025 we started sending PU rubber waste from the BENELUX region to our partners for feasibility studies and material testing.

In parallel, we’re developing the business case and scouting practical locations within BENELUX for building such recycling facility, or collaborating with existing facilities. We've also started engaging with potential investors and going through governmental grants to turn this vision into reality.

In the the next 3 to 5 years, we aim to establish a local, scalable solution that keeps PU rubber out of incinerators and in circulation, within the same industry.
