The ambition is clear: a fully circular plastic/polymer chain by 2050. Within DCPV (Dutch Circular Polymer Valley), we translate that ambition into concrete actions for today. One of the programs is the EPDM community, which will be organized together with Circular Rubber Platform. Do you work with EPDM rubber in production, processing or application? Then you can join now!

Why an EPDM community?

EPDM is one of the most widely used rubbers in the manufacturing industry. It is used in, among other things:

  • Roofing

  • Car seals

  • playground granulate

  • Rolling and rolling coating in machinery

At the same time, EPDM waste is still recycled to a limited extent. This is because the material must be powdered or devulcanized for reuse. In addition, the chain is fragmented: small volumes, a lot of variety and insufficient coordination between suppliers and processors. The wide application of EPDM makes the material promising for recycling, provided that the chain works together.

What are we going to do?

Within the EPDM community, companies work together for one year on concrete circular solutions.

  • We map EPDM (production) waste streams.

  • We bundle volumes to make recycling feasible.

  • We identify and break through technical and logistical bottlenecks.

  • We develop new circular applications.

  • We are building market acceptance and structural demand.

At least 8 companies participate. They are guided by an intermediary organization and supported by sector experts and partners from the DCPV network.

Who can participate?

The EPDM community focuses on:

  • Producers

  • Processors

  • Suppliers

  • Recyclers

  • companies that use EPDM in their products

SMEs as well as startups and scale-ups are welcome.

What does participation yield?

  • Strategic advantage – Strengthen your competitive position and increase your future-proof earning capacity.

  • Practical knowledge and guidance – Work with experts on the building blocks for implementation: business models, technology, organizational development and market approach.

  • Strong network – Learn from other entrepreneurs and frontrunners and join forces in the region.
