Are you a processor of plastic and do you make plastic products from polymers? Or are you a compounder and do you add additives or fillers to polymers in order to achieve the desired properties for compounds? Then you can start incorporating more recycled content (recyclate) or bio-based polymers into your products. Apply for the Plastic Processor Conversion Subsidy 2026 (SOPV). This subsidy is officially called 'Temporary subsidy for switching to processing circular plastics 2026'.

Changes to SOPV 2026

Compared to SOPV 2025, this has changed:

  • Production tests for the compounding or processing of elastomers and thermosets are eligible this year. In recent years, tests with these polymers were not eligible for the subsidy.

  • Production tests that deal with the production of compounds for or the processing of compounds in composite materials are also allowed this year.

  • You will only receive a subsidy once during this application period.

For whom?

The subsidy is for:

  • Compounders: entrepreneurs who add additives to polymers to achieve the desired properties. The end product of this process is called a compound. Processors use this to make plastic products.

  • Converters: entrepreneurs who process polymers or compounds into plastic semi-finished and end products.

What do you receive a subsidy for?

You apply for a subsidy to carry out one or more production tests in which you incorporate more circular plastics into your product(s). This way you will receive support in the activities involved in carrying out a production test.
A production test is a technical test that focuses on the processing of circular plastics in your own products.
