EPDM is one of the most common technical rubber types. It is used for its weather resistance in weather seals, flat roofing, door seals but also in many food and drinkwater applications.

This manufacturer creates quite a significant amount of production scrap, mostly vulcanized. The current, cheapest solution is landfilling locally, something that is not allowed in all European countries anymore. With the potential actions or even future ban on landfilling in Spain, the company wants to research alternative uses, or even reusing its scrap.

CRP already had found multiple companies that completely recycle their EPDM production waste (especially sulfur cured), so during an initial call the company showed interest in exploring these activities.

CRP offered to search for service providers locally and within it's existing network to find a better use for this material, and the company granted the project.
