As microplastic pollution continues to harm the environment and enter the human body, Blueview Shoes stand as a proof of concept for Soleic® urethane technology—a groundbreaking, bio-based material developed by Algenesis Labs. Soleic® is the world’s first plant-based, fully biodegradable, high-performance polyurethane, designed to decompose without leaving harmful microplastics behind.
Founded at UC San Diego, Algenesis Labs aims to combat the microplastic crisis with sustainable solutions. Blueview Shoes, made from Soleic® and other carefully sourced biodegradable materials, challenge traditional petroleum-based plastics by offering an eco-friendly alternative that’s durable, comfortable, and stylish. They offer comparable wear, tensile and abrasion resistance to traditional technologies. And, when disposed of, these shoes can be fully composted, breaking down in under a year. This is scientifically proven.
By choosing Blueview Shoes, consumers are not only making an eco-conscious choice but also supporting the future of sustainable materials like Soleic® that could revolutionize industries beyond footwear.
