Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for rubber gloves has surged. While production has significantly increased, so too has the amount of glove waste. On average, it is estimated that approximately 100 tonnes of gloves waste are produced each month. Unfortunately, this waste frequently ends up in landfills or incinerators, releasing harmful gases and heavy metal particles into the air, posing risks to both the environment and human health.

Geomax developed an innovative way to recycle this material. They started collecting these rejected nitrile rubber gloves, created an eco rubber compound and moulded them into as rubber eco soles for eco footwear.

“Geomax Rubber’s purpose is to develop innovative sustainable rubber products. We believe in creating a more environmentally sustainable society and circular economy through upcycling rubber.“
