Abstract

(translated from Dutch) A number of rubber waste materials are still being incinerated in the Netherlands. This prompted the municipality of Oosterhout and Avans University of Applied Sciences to investigate, together with parties in the supply chain, how circularity in tires can be improved. After exploring the situation with supply chain partners of nine different residual flows, the focus was on two chains: bicycle tires and mini-container tires. The Centre of Expertise Brede Welvaart en Nieuw Ondernemerschap of Avans and the municipality organized three online co-creation sessions in which they prioritized and made concrete improvements with companies.
